DotF: Torres wraps up rehab assignment in Tampa’s win

In case you missed it earlier, the Yankees have reportedly agreed to send RHP Dillon Tate, LHP Josh Rogers, and RHP Cody Carroll to the Orioles for Zach Britton. The trade is not yet official, which is noteworthy because the O’s are so stingy with their medical reviews.

The Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders had their game suspended with two outs in the bottom of the third. Here’s the box score. They’ll complete the game as part of a doubleheader tomorrow.

High-A Tampa Tarpons (8-3 win over Bradenton)

• CF Estevan Florial: 0-5, 1 K, 1 E (fielding) — 3-for-24 (.125) in five games since rejoining the team … quick, send him back to the GCL so he can pad his stats before the trade deadline! (I kid, I kid)
• SS Diego Castillo: 2-4, 1 R, 1 BB — my dude has been killing the ball for weeks now
• DH Gleyber Torres: 0-2, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K — played seven innings as scheduled … he’ll make the trip across the bay and rejoin the Yankees tomorrow, so that’s fun … went 3-for-9 (.333) with two walks and three strikeouts in his three rehab games
• LF Isiah Gilliam: 2-4, 2 R, 1 2B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K — 12 homers in 92 games this year after hitting 15 homers in 125 games last year, so he’s slightly ahead of the pace
• C Donny Sands: 3-4, 2 R, 2 2B, 1 RBI — hitting .308/.375/.354 in 20 games since returning from the broken arm
• 1B Steven Sensley: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
• 2B Hoy Jun Park: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K

The Rookie GCL Yankees West were rained out yet again. They haven’t played since last Thursday. This game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 2nd. They’ll play four doubleheaders in four days from July 30th to August 2nd.
